Hello I bought an 89 sea ray 200 last summer as a project. The motor was corroded out from the salt water where i live (maryland eastern shore) so I pulled the motor out. I bought a newer 4.3 vortec out of a blazer from a local scrap yard. I was told It would work in the boat. so i took the heads from the new and old motors to a machine shop and asked them to please rebuild whichever set would be best for my application. they went with the old set. so my non vortec heads are all ready to go. can I use those heads on the vortec block? as far as I know the only things specifically vortec are the heads, intake manni and cam. What else do i have to do to make this work? please help i wanted to already have the damn thing in the water months ago. thank you.

Unless you changed the out the steel core plugs in your block you will find out why marine engines use brass especially in salt water.
I would think the shop would have told you if the heads are different.
