My 1996 Mercury 225 EFI will bog down and not get on plane after idling out from the no wake zone. Anyone heard of this going on ?
The boat was just in the shop having the fuel vapor separator rebuilt all new gas lines new plugs new filter on the motor as well as new fuel water separator filter fresh gas in the boat i called the mechanic he said these motors are known for this they shut down cylinders while idling and the cylinder will fill with gas and when i get on the throttle the cylinder is full of fuel when it comes back on. he told me the solution to this is idle out of the no wake zone shift it to reverse rev it up hard then put it in gear and give it the throttle needed to get on plane 3/4 to full throttle and the it will get on plane i tried that and it worked buy it seems odd to me their has to be something else going on any advise will be great guys thanks.
