1996 Merc 60 Bigfoot No Spark!

Have a 1996 Mercury 60 Bigfoot on my pontoon boat. Bought the boat a couple weeks ago, had it out 8 or 9 times with no running or starting issues. Put it in the water a week ago and it didnt attempt to fire just cranking like crazy. Since then I had a guy who supposedly knew what he was doing work on my boat....apparently not! He changed the stator, rectifier, voltage regulator, and solenoid. Then called me said the boat wouldn't run and he was sorry. Once I got it home I found suspect wires on the trigger and replaced that. Today I replaced the switch box cause that was the only part left and still no fire on any cylinders! I'm at my whits end and about out of money at this point and just want to go fishing with my family. Any help on something I missed would be greatly apreciated. Thanks!
