I have a 1972 mr-1 drive with a 3.0l mercruiser that I installed in a pontoon. As far as the electronics go they function fine. I did have to remove the trim up safety switch since that part went bad.

I?m having two issues and they may be related. First one is when in reverse harder then normal the (off of an idle) the drive will flip up. The reverse lock out is still installed and hooked up and from what I can tell adjusted right.

The second issue I?m having is when in the full up position (trailering) the drive doesn?t want to go down unless I put a little force on it. A simple hand with some pressure works fine. If I don?t you can see that one of the cylinders will kind of bind and get pushed out to the side a little (less then .125?)

I?m thinking the cylinder internal valves are bad but I want to see what other think. Not sure if this is even possible but I haven?t taken one apart to see how they are constructed.

Thanks
Mike
