Testing a Mercruiser fuel pressure regulator

I have a 2004 350 MAG MIE SR om396072, I want to test the FPR, but I can not reach the vacuum hose that is attached to the FPR nipple(as it is burried under the motor mount between two engines.) Can I test to see if there is fuel in the line at the location where this hose enters the intake manifold,any help is appreciated.Joe

Yes, you can test downline. As long as nothing else is tee'd inline to affect the test
