Hello guys,
i took off my lower unit to see if i can find where its leaking from, well here's what i found.
The seal in the shift shaft bushing is where it seemed to be leaking from, The part of the rubber seal that wraps around the shift shaft has a Coil Spring that looks like it keeps pressure on the rubber against the shaft.
Well the little coil spring had fallen off the seal.
in your opinion would this scenario cause a leak and allow water into unit? it just doesnt seem to me that this spring has enough pressure on it to stop oil and or water from passing by.
