Hello, I am new to this forum, and just purchased my first boat. I offered $300 dollars although the ad says differently. He agreed. I did not buy it yet though. It does need to be repaired a little but i thought it was a deal. I will post detailed pics of what needs to be repaired.

I do have some concerns though. There are holes where the third bench seat use to be(he removed it). They're filled in with some sort of silicone. Also in the very back corner of the boat where the transom and floor meet, he has a strip of silicone.

Re: first boat

ANY boat, but especially one you get for $300 will need a lot of things fixed. But it sounds like your in the mood for a project. So, good luck. You'll find lots of help here on iboats.

Will be waiting to see your list and detailed pics of the boat's issues.

Silly Kone does NOT repair Aluminum Boats. Tread VERY CAREFULLY and INSPECT this boat very well.

Re: first boat

If the $300 is just for the boat and trailer, I think that's too much for a tiny, shallow boat in rough condition. You should be able to find something better.

My dad got a nice 14' alumacraft with galvanized trailer and a 5HP Mercury for $600 a couple years ago (granted it was in the fall when prices are lower).

Re: first boat

These little tiny boats have been listed VERY high around here lately. I live in Downingtown and just purchased one myself. I stumbled on this exact add during my search and stayed away from it. It annoys me when the seller doesn't take any close shots of the inside or the motor if one is included. Is $300 you max, or can you go higher?

I'm with EZ, I'd hold off and keep looking. I bought mine last week, it's old be in real good condition. Included everything - gas motor, trolling motor, battery, life vests and the trailer is almost perfect (the little stuff can really add up). It was listed for $850 and we agreed on $650. I bought the boat in Lancaster too. Click the link in my sig if you want to see it.
