1965 75hp evinrude starflite starting troubles

i have a problem getting it to start it turns over with an electric starter but i do not seem to be getting any spark at the plug we just put a new belt on it and believe the timing to be correct i also know i am getting power to the coil pack any ideas?

Which way do the spark plug wires come out of the distributor cap. From the bottom or the sides ??

Points, condenser, rotor or dist cap can all cause loss of spark. You are getting power to the coil, but the coil could still be bad.

i cleaned up the points but how to i check to see if i have a good coil?

could there be a kill switch on the engine in the wrong position and where would it be?

That mtr has battery type ignition and not a magneto and didn't come with a kill switch unless somebody has installed a stern drive type one. Somebody on here may chime in with a procedure on how to trouble shoot it, as it's very simple and I can't type that long.
