Hi Guys
I just picked up a 68 Mercury 650,ser# 2449595. Trying to start it after sitting two years and it will fire a bit here and there , so figuring I need to clean the carbs, but in doing so , how in the heck does a person disassemble things to get at the carbs. Now I concider myself a pretty fair mechanic, having done my own work on every engine I've had, but this thing has me completely baffled as to how to get at bolts and such , like getting the starter out and the front plate off to even think about getting in there to the carbs. Any and all help would be great, like to get this boat and motor on the lake soon. is there a repair manual that shows parts replacement ? I've looked at a service manual , but it doesn't go that far.
