Hi everyone-

Boat is a 1993 Four Winns Horizon 190 w/ 5.0 OMC

I've been working all weekend trying to get a new stereo installed. As of now, nothing on the instrument panel is working. The trim is working, but I understand that is a different circuit. I tested all the connections and they all look good. There is 12v running to everything on the fuse panel under the instrument panel and 12v in the stereo harness, other wiring harnesses, etc. No fuses are blown.

After letting it sit last night, I put it back in the garage this morning to work on it. Everything was working at this point. So I plugged in the stereo while the blower was running. Then everything died. Unplugged the stereo and nothing is working again. All that is hooked up on the stereo is the ground wire and power wire. I have both the power and interrupter wire spliced together.

Any ideas?

Welcome to iboats!

Check for a fuse near the battery on the 8 or 10 gauge wire that feeds the fuse panel.

sounds like you have a poor connection somewhere when there is a light load the connection allows enoght past it to show 12volts when you add a heavy load like the stereo the connection fails. could just be a bad or loose connection on the battery or wire to fuse panel. check both the positive and negative connections
