I have a 1973 85hp rude with electric shift and NO PT&T but runs good, I have found a 135HP rude w/ PT&T and manual shift but un known if it even runs. I'd like to put the 85hp power head on the 135, so I can have the 85 with PT&T and manual shift. Will this work?

Re: From 85HP to 135HP

A 1973 85hp has the Hydro-mechanical shift and the 135 was made from 1973 thru till 1976, all Hydro mechanical shift. Model numbers would reveal what years are being dealt with

It will work, but you can simply take the PT&T unit off the 135 and put it on the 85. If you actually have a 73 it is not a elictric shift. If it is earlier you may be able to modify it but it will not be a direct bolt on.
