what could cause water to get in bottom cylinder on my 2001 70 hp 2 stroke. It runs good until it gets warm then it loses power at wide open the throttle. I had a friend of mine that works on outboards look at it he took the bottom plug out and said that it looked like a new one, and he spun the motor over and water came out. He said that it could be a head gasket, cracked head or a cracked sleeve,an help would be appreciated

Your head is warped and maybe or also the head gasket is bad . thats what it sounds like to me . I never took one apart but i bet its not that bad . You need to know the tourque secqunce for your bolts and touque for your bolts . You can ask other members that are more experinced than me . Im sure if you ask they will give you good support for you motor problem .I hope you get it running . good luck .

On that mtr there are no exhaust cover gaskets and plates as the old ones had. He probably has head gasket probs.
