orderd what was suppose to be replacement starter for 4.3 0K009133. no place for purple/yellow wire. can this be put on with the red/yellow wire, or rerouted somewhere else?

were did ya order it from?<br /> the purple/yellow wire is used for fuel pump bypass when cranking and should go to the R terminal dont take it anywhere else as some models had voltage applied when running.

Are you sure you have a Marine starter? Most automotive starters don't have that terminal.

To expand on Don S's post and just in case you don't know - you need a marine starter. They are sealed to prevent explosions
