i have a 1963 jhonson supersea horse 40 had a new inpeller put in got it on the boat it had no reverse i ran around aboult 5 minutes and it started sliping in forward then it had no gears at all next day i started it up and it had forward gear i ran it tied to the dock for aboult half an hour and it worked could it be a external wireing problem i noticed the plug that you unhook to take the motor off isent in to good of shape i am thinking aboult elemanateing the plug and hard wireing it or is it something more serieous the oil was changed enging had some water mixed so the guy changed it
