Third trip of the year big loss of power couldnt get boat to rev more than 3000 rpm and do more than 20 miles an hour.. on further inspection noticed no exhaust coming thru prop (bravo2). could flapper let loose? block the exhaust cause the power loss. Revs up while not in gear. does exhaust help spin prop?

It will rev up in neutral because there is no load, no exhaust doesnt help spin prop.
But exhaust blockage is a big power reduction.... no air out, no air in, that simple

1. Yes.
2. That's what a blocked exhaust would do.
3. Irrelavent
4. No.

Hey, I'm no boat mechanic but do the basic myself. I have a Mercruiser Alpha one and noticed little to no exhaust coming from my prop. Separated the upper and lower unit, replaced the impeller and the seals in the water pump, as well as cleaned whatever gunk and residue I could see. After that, I noticed a lot more exhaust coming from the prop. Not sure what you've tried yet, but just my 2 cents.
