So yesterday was Mrs. Bubba's Birthday and I had it all planned out, pfttt...

About 10 in the morning the phone rings and I answer and it's the hot air balloon outfit. Umm, it's too windy to go up today, can we reschedule for next week? So much for the "Birthday" surprise. Ok, they were right, by the afternoon we had 25 MPH winds gusting to 35. We would have ended up in Minnesota.

Mrs. Bubba had requested a special birthday cake, she loves Red Velvet cake. Not to brag but I bake a decent cake and like decoration them, (My feminine side I suppose) so I baked the cake, had the decoration all but done and went to move it on the counter and, SPLAT it hit the floor. (Much to the delight of our German Sheppard in the corner.)

Also had a delivery of flowers along with a card set up to be here before noon, they showed up this morning a day late.

Some days it just doesn?t pay to get out of bed. I'm just glad I found such an understanding woman to be Mrs. Bubba.

It's the thought that counts.

Just treat it like a birthday week. Something new everyday.

I used to help chase balloons, too much wind is very bad. Once the go is given all heck breaks loose getting it all set up and off. Landings can be very interesting, especially if the wind has picked back up. More than once I was running across a field trying to catch the basket and get it grounded. Several times the basket was dragged at an angle until more chasers could grab on. Lots of fun.

Bad luck comes in threes Bubba, you should now be lucky for awhile.

Sorry to hear about the birthday surprise going down the drain.

Ta da, change in plans. The balloon outfit caled and said they had openings for this evening. (Weather made a big change in the last 24 hours.) Looks like we are going ballooning today and Mrs. Bubba is thrilled.

Well!!!!! Lets hear the story...
