I took a trip the other day with my buddy and his smaller boat. We started having issues, it started great but would not run without choke. We got to a fishing spot and were there for awhile. On the way back same deal, we had to periodically choke and unchoke the motor to keep it running. We were like a half mile from the launch when it started running perfect again. It idled fine after that. A few days ago we tried it on muffs and it did the same thing, started right up but would stall unless it was choked briefly. Showed it to my grandfather a few hours later and it ran without the choke, but did act like it was starving for fuel, more sneezing and shaking then normal. Pumping the primer did nothing. Any ideas about the problem. He's going to try a new filter element. I'm not sure of the model except its an 2 stroke electric start 25 hp. About 1990's. Thanks.
