HI all,

Long time reader. First time poster.

Just upgraded from a 19' regal sebring cuddy to a 1988 Carver Montego 2557 Cruiser, single engine. I have filled the water tank, but no water comes out of the faucets. Is there a fresh water pump that needs to be turned on? What am I not seeing??

Thanks

There is a pump somewhere. Most boats have a switch somewhere near the galley area. Look around, you'll find it.

Look in the electrical panel for a breaker labeled WATER. If nothing is there, it may just be an inline fuse (although I highly doubt it). There is almost always a way to turn the water pump off when the boat is moored at the dock or not in use (good idea). If all else fails, start at the water tank. You should have a pump somewhere near the tank or inline near a filter. Some boats even have a separate "filter looking" device. It is an expansion tank so the water pressure stays at a stable level. There won't be any wires attached to it, but it will be within 1' or so of the pump.

Last chance repair might be a fused breaker on the helm station or a reset breaker on/near the pump itself.
