I recently had the gimble bearing replaced, not real happy with the quality of work, however I am still experincing vibration at slow speeds, that being said I also put a cheap three blade prop on. Could that be a part of the problem.

2004 Glastron mercruiser 5.0 engine.

Could be the prop.
Do you have the original to try.
Also could be universal joints.
I'm no I/O expert but I don't think a gimble would cause vibration
more likely sloppiness.

Agree on the u-joints. Why did you have the gimble replaced ? I always seem to have to do both.

Ok, just got a call from the boat place. Its not in the out drive at all, it is some where in the motor. No work has been done to the motor at all. Now what?

Plugs, wires and distributor cap/rotor would be the first things I would check. Then a compression check.

A weak or missing cylinder might seem like a vibration.Did they check the coupler .
again not an expert but did they check the coupler as I understand it it is between the motor and the drive.
Also on automotive engines there is a vibration damper on the front pulley.

They tore it down to the gimble bearing, the troubling factor is, it only does it around 1500 rpm, no other time.
