What does the bell crank do? I do not have the linkage for mine and I'm wondering if it is needed. I have the crank itself but the linkage is all gone.

also my low speed (lean to rich) is not connected to anything, does this matter? It seem to run fine before without it, same with the bell crank.. as in before my rebuild.

I cannot seem to get my choke hooked up correctly. Could someone post a pic of there choke? I had to do it manually without the knob to choke and unchoke it or to move it to automatic.

Final question.. I finished my rebuild.. got it into the water.. started up alright, took a little bit.. doesn't seem to want to start but once its going its ok.. (wrong plugs and small fuel leak may have something to do with this but..) I couldn't keep it idling and when I got it to run ok just above idle I would put it in gear and it would bog down and die... what could all cause this?
I put carb kits in both carbs.. are there any adjustment points on the carbs that could be beneficial to mess with? I followed the book instructions for rebuilding as far as how many turns out on the needle valves

If someone could get back to me on this I would greatly appreciate it.. I'm very eager to get it back into the water!

If you are talking about the "spider" that connects all four jets together, it's not really necessary. It sounds like the carbs need final adjusting, this can only be done on the water due to the back pressure needed to get them right.

I'm talking on the engine cradle cover. There is a "lever" you pull that operates the choke. Full choke, auto, no choke. That I can't figure out.

Facing the carbs, on the right side of the lower carb is an arm on the choke shaft, at the top of the arm should be a plastic keeper. The link goes from that keeper to the control "button"

That's what I figured but the lever just doesn't seem to line up good with it... it puts the "button" sitting too high and then it doesn't seem to wanna work right.. that's what is confusing me.
