propshaft removal

i have a 1983 50 hp johnson and i am tring to get the prop shaft out. i removed the 3 bolts behind the prop and can't get the bearing housing to move. am i missing something or are there any tricks to geting it out.

You'll have to get the proper puller to get it out. May also need some heat if it's been in in salt water.

To get the prop shaft out, first you have to remove the bearing housing, and most likely with the help of a propane toch and proper puller as mentioned above.
Then remove the circlips on the inside, the reverse gear, the pinion nut and pull up the drive shaft, the vertical shift rod, and finally it might be time for the prop shaft and shift housing.
