controls for a 2003 25 hp outboard throttle stuck

My throttle cable is stuck at the controls. Any tips about taking the controls apart before I start?

Take the throttle cable off of the mtr and try it again just to eliminate a mtr prob. You could also have a bad throttle cable.

Hi. I tried that. I disconnected the throttle from the engine and the throttle on the engine moved freely. It may be a bad throttle cable. Can I remove the cable from the controls without taking the controls apart?

Controls have to come apart. Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up a parts diagram of your control and you'll get a better idea of what's going on.
