Hi guys,
I have a 99 130 Johnson looper that I just bought - with a bad upper port cylinder. The guy I bought it from says you can hear the piston knocking around in the cylinder - I take him at his word and don't really want to fire it up for fear of doing more damage to the block.
But, based on the fact that we know it's knocking around in there, is there any chance I'll be able to repair just that one cylinder? Obviously I'll need to take a look inside to see how bad it is, but should I even bother? Is a power head swap the right thing to do from the get-go?
I'm assuming I should rebuild the carbs as well to correct for potential lean condition that caused the original failure...
Thanks!
