Hello everyone I have had this boat for 9 years has been sitting for 4 years I hooked up the battery and turned it over after priming the carb with fresh gas,, the starter turns and the engine fired up I was aamazed.. but the starter stayed cranking while the engine was running what causes this??? I was thinking the ignition switch could be bad.. Does anyone ever have this problem?? any help would be appreciated???? Thanks

Could be a switch problem or your starter is rusty or the spring is broke.
You could put a test light on where the wire is that activates your starter and see if it still has power when you let go of the key.

Starter Solenoid sticking, Short in Key Switch, are the most likely Culprits
