How low does your drive sit on your trailer?

I have a 2010 Boat Wheels trailer for my 91' SeaRay 260. What concerns me is how low the drive rides. The lowest point of the skeg is only about 8-10" off the pavement when trimmed all the way up. Is this alright? It just looks like its gonna hit or not make it into some gas stations. This is a new boat and trailer to me so I'm trying to figure these things out. Thanks.

Deep V hull plus it is set really low on the trailer to begin with.

It should be OK, but maybe tie it up during towing just in case it loses it's hydraulics.

So that doesn't seem abnormal? If that's the way its supposed to ride I'm not going to mess around trying to raise it. I need to cut off 4 extendable posts for the bunks then. They hang down 2" off the ground and get caught on everything.

I do use the trim lock brackets in case something were to fail.

I would be careful going out steep driveways but other than that, you aren't going to have any problems on highways.

It seems 'normal', give the boat and trailer at least. Just be careful over bumps.

I measured my boat/outdrive on the trailer last night . . .

It has about 12" of clearance in the full up position.

Thanks for measuring tpenfield. I'm probably just going to leave it and cut off the extra low hanging bunk posts.

Personally, I would leave them. I would rather hit them first than the drive.

Not a bad thought if they weren't sooooo low. They are in the front of the trailer and are only about 2-3" off the pavement (you can kind of see them in the pic under the letter "H"). Got stuck on one driveway apron already and made an awful racket breaking free.

If it really bothers you, look into the possibility of flipping the axles on the trailer. You'd gain about 4-6in and have less to worry about, but not all suspension designs allow for this modification.

Here is what my boat looks like on the trailer . . . I don't have the outdrive all the way up, but close. I did not measure it, but it looks like a bit less than I measured when the boat was in the garage.
