I thought this'd be a snap. Just write down the model & serial numbers and search SearsPartsDirect. Found it too.
Sort of...

Search result

Just to explore a bit, I clicked on and expanded the parts view for the "ignition" parts.
Imagine my surprise when I learned that my 2-cylinder outboard uses just ONE spark plug and ignition coil!

I'm guessing this is a Force from '84. Can anyone confirm or re-direct?
Thanks.

I would put it at minimum 86-88, what your looking in the diagram is one side of the BIM coil setup,
do a search here on this forum for 'Standard Magnito"

Thanks guys.
Now I gotta search for a couple of USED parts:
1. A 15HP carb, part# F7150611 (FO-1B)
2. An aluminum prop

"USED" because I'm grappling with a sharply-limited fixed income.
Let fly with tour favorite used parts sources.

BTW, I did a search for "standard magnito" and drew blanks.

Wot's a "BIM coil setup"?

Well; there's the list of salvage yards that is in the sticky:

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=438822

You apparently have the part numbers so that makes e-bay searches easier. If you haven't already done so I would ask over on the Chrysler/Force forum here.

Are you attempting to convert your 9.9 to a 15? I would read about that if you haven't already. Sometimes depending on the engine it can screw up your idle quality somewhat.

If the budget is tight I would postpone that anyway; you might not see all that much difference and it will stress the engine due to the higher RPM's...

Sounds like fun though :)

PS: "Standard Magneto"= http://www.standardmagneto.com/
It's a company that sells ignition parts .

Just to keep crabby happy.

There are two ways of getting on my bad side, boys: I don't like kids playing in my yard, and nobody but me touches me thermostat.
