Hello all,
I attempted to remove the drain plug in my Bravo 3 drive and had no luck. I tried heating the casing and a slap hammer with no success. My next thought is to drill the plug and use and ez out. The previous owner possibly could have changed the drive oil last season before transferring ownership and did not put the washer back on causing the plug to seize. Wondering if anyone has had this same experience and any idea are welcome. Oh an the head of the drain plug is pretty much shot from the slap hammer. Thank you for any helpful responses.

take it to a welder and have a SS bolt welded to it.
ez outs as a very last resort.

Re: Bravo 3 drive drain plug seized

firstly - leaving out the washer wont cause seizing, more likely a leak
here in the salt water of sw fla. i have seen my share

i have always been able to remove stubborn drain screws using an impact screwdriver
just be sure to use the proper size tip

penetrating oil and heat wont hurt either

good luck and safe boating

Good idea welding a new bolt on it. I have already tried an impact screwdriver with heat. thanks for your ideas.

Never had one even remotely argue with a QUALITY impact driver and the right bit (and a 3lb lump hammer :D)....
