Hello all,

I was hoping somebody might have some information that I am trying to find. I have a 1997 Sea Nymph TX165 (bass boat). I am trying to find the hull weight of this boat...does anybody know what that might be?

On a related note, that same boat is rigged with an 1997 Evinrude 35hp (3-cylinder), and I get a top speed of approximately 28 MPH. If anybody has a similar setup to this, what is your top speed? I am trying to figure out if my I can potentially get more MPH from my setup. Maybe its just me, but I think the boat should be going 30+ MPH. Thanks!

Re: Sea nymph hull weight

Found the info here on iboats for a 1996

[h=1]1996 Sea Nymph TX165 Tournament Pro[/h] This outboard bass boat is 15.83 feet long and weighs 650 (pounds dry). This weight does not account for passengers, fuel, or gear. The beam of this craft is 72 inches. The max horsepower for this boat on our records is 50 hp . If you choose to buy a replacement engine for your Sea Nymph TX165 Tournament Pro boat, it is recommended by many, that you verify the max horsepower for your boat. This is because of safety reasons - as it would effect the insurability of your outboard boat. Be sure to have the manual for your engine handy, not only for your safety, but to save you money on repair costs.

Your Sea Nymph aluminum hulled boat can be kept in better condition by covering it properly when not in use. This will help to prolong its use and resale value. Proper maintenance and care (and winterization if needed) will also help maintain the usability and value of the craft. As outboard engine life also effects the value of a boat, we have included engine information as well.

Information on this page is provided to you as a free service of iboats.com. Because this information has come from many sources we can not guarantee its accuracy. Even if this information is the same as the original factory specs, boats are sometimes modified. Thus, for safety and other reasons, it is a good idea to verify information here to make sure it matches up with your boat. For additional information, we recommend the iboats forums and a boating safety course.

Re: Sea nymph hull weight

You question about speed may do better over in the prop section. Just state your motor year, make, model, prop with specs, and speed you've recorded (BTW GPS is what u want to record speed with, regular pivot speedo are too reliable for accurate mph). The more specifics the better such as jack plates, height of anti-cavitation plate in relation to bottom of boat, etc.

Just my .02, and its prob not worth that, but a 16 foot boat with a 35hp motor hitting 28 mph sounds pretty good in my book. Heck i have a 16 foot Sea Nymph SS155 Fish n Ski with a 1985 Evinrude 50hp and i hoping to hit mid 30s

Thanks for the info Piece715! And I have been posting in the propeller section, and as a matter of fact, I've taken their advice an decided to purchase a new prop. Got about a +1 MPH increase. Guess I was just curious as to other's results, so thanks for the input!
