calling all Alpha SS experts

IMAG0113.jpgIMAG0114.jpgRecently purchased a new boat! It's has a bonafied Alpha SS. I've read so much about them but no one covers the basics. Like how to run it on muffs etc. Is the impeller the same?

I think the only difference was in the gear sets and possibly bearings. All of the normal stuff should be the same as the non-SS versions as far as bellows, water pumps/impellers, etc.

same pump.The bell housing and gimbal ring are different. just about every part that differs from standard alpha 1 is NLA. I have one too and keeping my fingers crossed.

Im almost positive the differences are not in the Transom assy at all.
The upper housing is 2.5" shorter, the lower unit is cast with a nose cone, the vertical shaft is shorter (obviously, by 2.5") Low water pick ups.
Otherwise, it will bolt right on to a Gen 1 Transome assy.

As for my Alpha SS - Im selling it. Going to Bravo this winter. Im getting out of the Alpha life support game.
It would be perfect for someone with a nice SBC in a light boat.
