I Have a 82 mercruiser model 485. Did a complete gasket over haul from the head up. Got it running good in the driveway. So I took it to the lake to really try it out. It ran great for 5min them antifreeze started gushing out of the radiator cap and then a hose blew that goes from the Intake to the exhaust manifold. Any answer why it would blow. Would there b an air pocket or something else.

No I didn't. I thought I needed to run a little longer before I retorqued the head bolts

It only needs to be run up to operating temp, in the driveway would do. That may be your problem. Need to do a compression test, and check for coolant in the oil, if there get it out asap. Good luck.

did you have the head magnafluxed and surfaced? do a compression test if you still have a problem it should show up in one or 2 cylinders being low on compression... sounds like compression from one or more of the cylinders leaking into the cooling system.
