1976 OMC 175 HP wont engage prop

Hello everyone I have hopefully a slight problem. Took my boat down to water today to test my transom seal and make sure it was water tight. Well turns out my prop wont engage into forward or reverse. Shift wires are all hooked up fine but when you give it throttle its like boat stays in nuetral which im assuming that is exactly what its doing since it wont shift. Any ideas? This is a 1976 Seaswirl Lancer with a OMC 175 HP sterndrive. Thanks.

On a better note my sealing job with new transom was successful.

verify that you are getting 12 volts to the blue and green shift wire when trying to shift.

if not, make sure your purple wire is hooked from the remote control to a 12 volt source that is hot in the run position.
