I have 1988 Bayliner capri with a OMC Cobra 5.0L what degree should the timing be set for 2000' Elevation?

Ayuh,.... Is that a 305, Chevy 5.0l, or a 302, Ford 5.0l,..??

Pretty sure it's a 305 Chevy { plug wires are 18436572}, I hooked up my timing light to #1 on port side & it was set at 16*, dropped it to 8* & it's running pretty good, Leave it there?

Ayuh,... Distributer is forward on a Ford, 'n Aft on a Chevy,... 8? btc sounds 'bout right...
