Top.jpgI am new to the Boating field. Bit the bullet and got a cheap boat for me and the kids.

It is a 1972 Crestliner, 4 cyl Mercruiser motor and outdrive.

The boat has set under a tree for partial shade In Phoenix Arizona (HOT) for 7 years.

The shell is somewhat in distress from the sun beating down on it.

I have small cracks and bubbles on the top of the boat. I want to paint it and make it look better.

How do I fill in the cracks? I bought Resin Jelly but not sure if I shouldn't just use Bondo?

I am not looking to "Restore" this one. Just want it to look half way decent on the water from a short distance lol.

I was thinking of filling the cracks, light sanding and perhaps spray paint the top and maybe the sides.

I do have a compressor and a spray gun I have never used I could try my skills with that.

I do want it to look as nice as possible with minimal cost.

It will be on the water maybe 6 to 10 weekends a year and 1 full week a year.

What do you think I should do????

Thank You

Hey bud .. welcome to Iboats .. :) ..

I would make sure the motor is sound and the hull is sound.

Go play for the season and fix er up in the winter/fall when you stop using it.

Just me.

Happy boating !

YD.
