I just replaced the u-joint bellows, intake, shift cable etc. When I purchased the kit, it came with an exhaust bellows, however I understand there is a newer style that is a tube. The new style is supposedly much easier to install as it only bolts to the gimbal and not the bell housing.

Has anyone ever had experience with this? Performance? Is the upgrade ok for the motor? Wouldn't water backflow through the exhaust pipe when not running?

It definately looks much easier to install and my knuckles are beat up enough from the intake.

Much easier to install...Yes

Performance....... No Just alot louder when on plane... its not going thru the prop when trimed up.. when trimed down thru the prop

Will it backflow water....... No you already have water in your exhaust bellows from your water cooled engine

Thanks. I would imagine the shutter in the exhaust pipe would also restrict the back flow.
