I was on the PERKO website and came across this. Thought it might be worth mentioning. I searched here to see if this information was already posted, but did not find anything (even though it may be over a year old). Hopefully this is the appropriate forum.

May 2011 Recall Information
We have discovered a material problem that can result in a brittle area on the flange of several of our plastic body fuel fills. The result is that the flange can crack when the mounting screws are tightened. The cause of the problem has been traced back to the material itself, not an in-house Perko process. These fills affected were manufactured after 4/12/11 and in May. They can be identified by the date code molded on the side of the fill. See the photographs below for the location of the date code, which tells when the fill was manufactured.

If you have one of these fills, please return it to us immediately. If it has been installed on a boat, it must be removed and returned.
