Found Evinrude service manual and want to confirm it will be same as my 66 Golden Meteor.

Yes they are the same except the color and engine cover.

Ken Cook company says they are different manuals. I told them I understand the covers are different, but is the content the same. They said different, but I was talking to customer service person who clearly did not scan the manuals to answer my question. I would like to buy the Evinrude manual on ebay (Johnson not available), but want to reconfirm it is exact same content - as far as critical information goes.

Control boxes were different too. maybe that's the difference?

Control boxes is the only thing I can think of also. Evin was push botton and John single lever but did the same thing as far as throttle and shifting.
