Hi, as soon as I start the engine it is at full throttle. 1997 evinrude 225. gas pedal is after market "hot foot". It is a ranger bass boat. Any advice would be great! ty

unhook the hot foot's throttle linkage at the powerhead and then move the throttle at the pedal and see what happens to the cable that you unhooked. maybe the cable is frozen in the tube? maybe the foot lever isn't hooked to the cable? maybe the idle is cranked way up so when not in gear/in the driveway it runs away?
