Good morning,
I have a 1990 OMC 5.8 Cobra and I can not get the thing to run right. I replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and points.
My question is - I turned the engine to TDC and saw were the rotor is pointed, started running the wires in sequence according to the manual. I turned the motor over and it backfired through the carb alot of popping and sputtering. I took the distributor cap off and turned the engine back to TDC and the rotor does not point the the number one spark plug wire anymore????
Is the rotor suppose to point at number one wire everytime the engine is TDC?? or does the rotor spin faster and not necessarily at TDC every rotation??
Thank you
Brian
