Bomber boats were made by a company called FiberKing, in Tennessee I believe, and they've been out of business for quite a while. Find the hull ID number, you should be able to figure out the year from that. Then from there go to NADA.com, they'll list the Bomber models made each year. My "other" boat is a Bomber fish-n-ski and I just haven't gotten around to selling it yet.

Are there any soft spots in the deck? Also, I'd check the transom very thoroughly, since it's obviously been sitting out in the weather for a long time I have a hard time believing there's not any rot going on. The best way to test the transom is to drill several holes into it from the inside ONLY GOING HALFWAY (ABOUT 3/4") IN. The wood shavings should come out bone dry with no discoloration. If it's healthy just fill the holes with some marine-tex, or some fiberglass resin/milled fiber paste and your good to go. If the transom doesn't check out there are plenty of threads in the restoration section which detail how to replace transoms.

I will try that. It seems like work has been done on the transom the whole area appears to have been fiber glassed I will get a pic up tomorrow to show you what I mean. but on that note I do not see any ID numbers back there ( earlier post I read said to look back there to find ID number" it could have been painted over or that area was part of what was replaced. there is no soft spots in the boat. at least not in the areas I can walk around. I will try the drilling idea there is holes back there but I think its from where they took off the plate to protect motor from digging into the transom and as far as it feels structurally it held up to my monkey test ( hung on transom and pulled back ) Thank you for the Info.:D

On my Bomber the Hull ID number is on the starboard side of the transom near the top (top right if you're looking at it from the rear).

Yes, post photos of the boat and especially the transom from all angles. My Bomber had a bad transom which I discovered after about a year, some of the bolt and screw holes into the transom hadn't been properly sealed by a previous owner. And while I was in the process of replacing the transom I found the stringers to be bad as well.

I have a 1974 Bomber. Took it today to get registered with the State Parks division. They took a piece of masking tape and placed it over the HID number, then colored the tape with a pencil. The numbers came out perfect for them to read. Might give it a try.

I apologize, not masking tape (might work though). They used clear tape

Hmm I will give that a try thank you. I've not called yet to get it reg. I'm hopeing that will not screw anything up if I can't get it all. I would think they could use the boat numbers on the side to see who had it and what the number is.?

I see you're in Georgia. The normal way to register a boat here is to have a notarized bill of sale and the previous registration card (Georgia is one of many states that doesn't title boats). It sounds like you need to do a little research online to see what steps need to be taken if the previous registration isn't available. You may need to call the state and get their help. I'd get that taken care of before putting very much effort into your boat.
