Re: Help With Boat I.D " 19__ BOMBER ________? "
Bomber boats were made by a company called FiberKing, in Tennessee I believe, and they've been out of business for quite a while. Find the hull ID number, you should be able to figure out the year from that. Then from there go to NADA.com, they'll list the Bomber models made each year. My "other" boat is a Bomber fish-n-ski and I just haven't gotten around to selling it yet.
Are there any soft spots in the deck? Also, I'd check the transom very thoroughly, since it's obviously been sitting out in the weather for a long time I have a hard time believing there's not any rot going on. The best way to test the transom is to drill several holes into it from the inside ONLY GOING HALFWAY (ABOUT 3/4") IN. The wood shavings should come out bone dry with no discoloration. If it's healthy just fill the holes with some marine-tex, or some fiberglass resin/milled fiber paste and your good to go. If the transom doesn't check out there are plenty of threads in the restoration section which detail how to replace transoms.
