stabilized binoculars for big game fishing

I am putting together a boat to chase the bluefins around this year and understand that a useful tool for finding the fish/birds is a stabilized set of binoc's. I am wondering if the more powerful the better or if there is an optimum power to have in this situation. Also if you know are there certain brands to stay away from and others preferred?
