Ok, I've attached a couple of pictures. The original owners son says it had to have been bought between 67-72 as he remembers it being parked in 72 when his Dad retired.

Thanks for the help!!

That looks like an older
McCulloch built outboard and the hull "might" be any brand??? Maybe a MFG

Sears did make a fiberglass GameFisher in both tri-hull and semi-V hulls. They also made motors, though I didn't know they made a Sears Gamefisher OB in a 140. I wonder if that is the designation for a 14HP?

140 could mean it is 14' long or just a model number. Those pictures show a boat and motor in rough shape.

Hey Cheif!!,
I'm not certain of the 140 designation either. I thought maybe it meant 14 foot or something. I've looked through all the sears cats I could find online, no help there....

Yeah, it's a full restore project... Trying to find pictures and info to help rather than making a frankenbeast of it..

Is there a coast guard plate someplace on the boat (stating capacity, weight, hp limits)? If you can find one, it may have a full model number stamped on it that gets you closer in your search.

The Sears Gamefisher 5.5 HP motor I have from that time frame was built by Eska. Google it or do search on Eska or Gamefisher outboards here on iboats. There's a good bit of information available.

That's the thing with "Sears" labled boats. Back in those years Sears would let a bid for what they wanted that month and the lowest builder got the contract. They literally had dozens of manufactures over the years.

That engine looks a lot like a Clinton engine and if you take the cover off and snap a couple pics we can probably help narrow it down.

The engine is a Scott-Attwater. No doubt; had 2 of them; 10 and 22 hp. They were bought out by the chain saw folks McCullough and later fizzled. No idea as to the boat.

sneakycat,

how close to yours is this??...........

In 1968 MFG Boat Corporation began producing boats for Sears. These models were the Sears Gamefisher and later the Adventurer series boats. The Sears line was produced in Ashtabula, not Union City as one might think. According to one MFG contact, this continued into the very early 80's

Woosterken, I've looked all through fiberglastics site without luck. The link you sent doesn't look like the hull.

I'm picking up the boat next Saturday and will post better info most likely by Sunday. Measurements et all.....

IMG_0559.jpgIMG_0565.jpgok, so I tore out the deck and it looks like the intermediate hull is in good shape. Tonight I'm tearing out the transom....
