Hi,

OMC 1990 3.0L Cobra, (302BMRPWS)

Need to add Fluid to the trim pump, one place they say use Power Steering Fluid,
another place say to use Transmission Fluid.

Thanks Steve

A lot of stores carry marine outdrive specific fluid for your trim pump. Wally Word, Farm and Fleet, etc all have them. I would go with one of those personally. If in a pinch, transmission fluid would work.

Thanks,

Why I was asking is the previous owner said he used Power steering Fluid.

Should I drain it out ans replace it??

That system is probably one of the simplest hydraulic pump/actuator systems there is.

About ANY petroleum based light oil will work.

Just put in whatever the previous owner said he used.
