How does natural gas air conditioning system work?

I'm a reasonably tech-savvy guy, but this is one item for which I've never received an explanation that I could understand.

I have no compelling reason to ask, but I'm interested and baffled.

Thanks Bruce. That link led me to a couple of sites from which I was able to grasp the fundamentals of it.

I understand the basic concept too. It used alot for gas refrigerators these days and less for home cooling.
