Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and to boating. I've found a lot of great info here so far, but was unable to search and find an answer to my electrical dilemma.
Here's my issue:
I have a 97 Hydra Sports 185ER w/ a Johnson 150 FastStrike (two stroke) and I changed out all of the gauges. The problem is the tach. I bought a Teleflex that doesn't have the Hot, Low Oil, No Oil, and CHK ENG lights like the factory OMC. I want to wire in 4 LEDs on the dash so I still have these lights. I have identified the different ground wires coming out of the factory harness and wired them to the respective lights along with a power jumping to each. That was the easy part. Now I want the buzzer to activate when one of the lights illuminate like it did from the factory and have no idea how I can get these 4 ground wires to the buzzer without all of the lights illuminating if one is tripped. Hope that makes sense? Is there some sort of relay I can buy or am I all wrong in thinking that I need the ground from each light to go to the buzzer for it to work properly?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if this has been previously covered.
Thank you.
John
