HD-25 overheating problem

I have recently got my HD-25 running. The problem is that after a few minutes of running in the tank, it overheats to the point of stalling and fuel boils in the carb. I have cleaned out the water tube, removed the cylinder head, and cleaned both the cylinder head and the powerhead ports. There is water squirting out of the check plug, but I don't see water squirting out of the lower unit. Please help. Thanks.

Welcome...

Sounds like it's time to inspect/replace the rubber pump in the LU.

Remove the prop and access the housing. The pump is on the propshaft.

Inspect and tell us what you find.

I did Inspect the waterpump and found that it had been worn to the point where it no longer fit tight to the eccentric. I replaced the waterpump with new old stock and cut back the deteriorated rubber boot at the end of the water tube untill the passage was clear.

Once I took apart the carb/exhaust bypass cover, I found out that not only were the intake ports partially clogged with black permatex, but one of the cooling ports was clogged. I'll get things back together and let you know how I made out.

Made a gasket for the carb/exhaust cover plate and reassembled.

Removed the powerhead, found that one of the mounting screw holes in the powerhead also enters a cooling port and was clogged.

Blasted out the ports, made a new gasket, and reassembled.

The motor is running better than ever, however, it is still overheating in the barrel after about 3 minutes.
