60 HP Merc 4-strk --- Will not start

Own a 2009 Merc 60 hp 4-strk. Accidentally (stupidly) hooked up control negative cable to positive terminal of battery when installing this spring. Iginition is dead --- blows 15A fuse immediately as soon as key is turned. Have I also fried a relay?

Hopefully not. There are fuses on the motor. Start there. According to the manual for mine (2002 60 hp efi) the regulator/rectifier may be damaged. There is a diode check to do. Manual is online at 1 manual.com
