I am looking for a couple of 6" keel rollers for my old trailer. The ones that are on there now are heavy duty but have started to groove from age. I don't want to have to change all of the hardware on the boat just to replace the existing rubber rollers. It looks like they make 4" and 5" rollers now but 6" ones are harder to find.

Re: Looking for 6" keel rollers

I think 6" rollers are a thing of the past. I had an old Gator trailer a couple years ago that had 6" rollers and I looked everywhere for them with no luck. I ended up being able to reverse the brackets, right on left- left on right, and then fit 5" rollers on it. Think I also added a couple flat washers on each side of the roller to keep it from walking back and forth. Could see if the same will work for you.

I think you are right about the 6" rollers being a thing of the past. I called a marina today and they suggested trying to cut an 8" roller down on both ends and that is what I will probably try if I can't find the old ones.

You can find a bunch of them them in Australia. I've called or e-mailed a couple of places, but no one wants to ship.

I thought I would try these on my Gator trailer I'm redoing. Maybe sand down 1/2 an inch on each side.

There's some on Australia Ebay. Maybe we could fine someone that would ship selling there.

I've alsoo been told that some places will use a bandsaw to cut larger rollers to size
.
