1994 15HP runs and then falters

Motor runs great for 5 minutes and then won't fire on top cylinder. Pulled plugs and thought top one was fouled. Put in a new set of plugs in and it still would not fire on top cylinder. We sat and fished for about and hour and started up the motor and it ran fine for 5 minutes on both cylinders and then back to square one. Motor did this 3 times while out on the lake. It would run fine and then no fire on top cylinder and then sit for an hour and then fine and then not. plug wire coil??? Any suggestions ? Thanks

In most cases when you loose spark after the engine warms up and it comes backwhen the engine cools off, it is an ign componet.
Could be a coil or ign module. You are going to have to test the system when it happens. You might go to the CDI website and look up your engine and use their troubleshooting guid eto help you check out the system.

The coil has 2 posts for the plug wires that go to each cylinder(2). Does anyone know if the coil operates seperately for each cylinder or if the coil is faulty it affects the 2 cylinders at the same time?

sounds like a coil to me.
