I seem to be able to find every year except '83. How hot is a rectifier sposed to get? You can sear flesh with mine.
This is probably unrelated but while I have your attention: Picked up the motor a few months ago. Rebuilt carbs, new waterpump, gearlube, pressure test gearcase etc. Put 25.2 hrs on it so far. Was running great but over the weekend developed a kinda miss, almost knock. Performance doesn't seem to be greatly affected though I didn't try to set any new speed records.
Me'n a buddy just did the old push on the piston trick, couldn't detect any slop. Same 130 psi plus in all 4 holes. No slop in crank at the flywheel. Runs fine on the muffs & idling in the water for that matter but soon's you put in gear? Burp burp burp ...
Ideas? Any input is greatly appreciated.
