Air leak in lower unit.

The last time I had the boat out I noticed bubbles coming up from the lower unit. I ran it at home today with the ear muffs on and I saw water blowing out by one of the rear bolts that hold the lower unit on. The bolt is not loose so I think there might be a hole. My question: Is this a major concern? Do I need to replace the lower unit?

Re: Air leak in lower unit.

There's bubbles, air, exhaust, water, etc., coming out from everywhere down there with the motor running. Your best bet would be to drain the oil out of your lower unit to check for water in the oil. If it's clear and clean, you're likely in good shape. Next step would be to drop your lower unit and inspect/replace the water pump. Good Luck!:)
